Raising Awaerness for 2 special causes.
29 Apr 2017
This week see Kiwi Chauffeur Services supporting an old friend as he traverses the length of New Zealand in support of a good cause:
Raising awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) within the NZ Fire/Police/Ambulance Services.
He is due into Auckland to complete the Firefighter Sky Tower Stair Challenge in support of the Leukaemia and Blood Cancer NZ on the 13th May.
He began his journey in Bluff on the 21 April moving up the East Coast of the south Island through such settlements Gore/Balclutha/Dunedin/Oamaru/Timaru through to Burnham Camp. With the road situation in the Kaikoura region still awash, he was able to hitch a copter ride into Kaikoura and continue his pedal up the coast into Picton. The North Island leg will see him run/walk/pack march from Wellington to Auckland. No doubt he will be escorted throughout most of it by collegues friends alike.
Abit on Maaka – he is an Ex-Soldier (RNZA) where he remained for many years. Then the next time i seen him was in the Middle East doing Close Protection. Once work dried up he came back to NZ and became an Ordained Minister and joined the NZ Fire Service. This has quantified his mission to Fund Raise and assist in raising awareness in PTSD which he has witnessed firsthand.
Follow him up the Island on face book:
